For the past few years the term concussion has been a buzz word throughout the sports world gaining much attention. While concussions are not new to sports - how we identify, treat and manage them has changed dramatically. ImPact Concussion testing is an online testing program that tests an athletes memory and reaction time.

Get your required certification at a course in the EPRU. Remember that all previous CAP certifications expired in August 2010 so you must take a new CDP course. If you have taken a CDP course in 2008 or prior, your certification has also expired UNLESS you took a CEU course (such as Luke Gross's Lineout Clinic) which extends your certification expiration.

The rugby athlete must train and develop unique skills for 7s, be able to make the right decisions in the open field and under pressure and learn to use space. Since 7s is played on the same sized field as 15s, there's more room. This camp will emphasize developing the skills necessary to compete at a high level in the game of 7s rugby.

Hope Rogers was introduced to the sport of rugby in 2009 with the South Penn Girls U19 team. Although just a sophomore, Hope immediately found her game. She scored four tries and kicked three conversions during her first season and received the team’s Rookie of the Year Award.

As announced at the December Coaches Meeting, the EPRU Boys All Star (also known as Select Side) program will be introducing 7’s in its 2012 program. The first step of this effort will be a Boys EPRU 7’s Camp on Saturday, January 21st at the University of Delaware. It will start at 5:00pm and conclude at 10:15pm.

Lafayette College Rugby will host two indoor High School Rugby Clinics on two consecutive Sundays, January 29th and February 5th. Each clinic will include a warm up, rugby games, skills, drills and a video presentation.

EPRU High School Boys hold first ever 7s Camp
On Saturday, January 21, 2012, 41 EPRU players representing 13 teams met at the University of Delaware Field House for a Rugby 7s Camp. The camp combined the introduction of all aspects of 7s rugby as well as fitness testing.
