There are currently 30 women's collegiate teams in the EPRU competing in three divisions.
The Division I teams compete for the right to advance to the MARFU Women's Collegiate Division I Championship, the USA Rugby Women's Collegiate Division I Sweet 16 and the USA Rugby Women's Collegiate Division I National Championship.
The Division II teams compete for the right to advance to the MARFU Women's Collegiate Division II Championship and the USA Rugby Women's Collegiate Division II National Championship.
The EPRU Women's Collegiate Division III was created to give the newly formed Recognized Members competition. These teams compete for the right to advance to the East Coast Collegiate Division III Championships.
Organize the league's playoff system and championship event
Oversee and coordinate an All-Star program.
Provide timely communications and support to club officers regarding their obligations to the Union, coaching and refereeing courses, and other relevant, upcoming events.
Interact with college officials to promote rugby and foster positive relationships between the college, the rugby clubs and the EPRU.
Provide clubs with materials and sources of information to improve their club; including those dealing with player skills, coaching, Laws of the Game, safety, behavioral matters relating to the image of rugby, fundraising, etc.
Facilitate conflict resolutions between member clubs involving match scheduling, etc.
Encourage and promote clubs' support for community service projects.
Issue policies that are conducive to both maintaining a positive image of rugby and providing a quality experience for all involved.
Be responsive to clubs and schools regarding rugby-related issues of concern.
Represent a club's best interests in dealings with other governing bodies and the Referees Society.
Publicize positive aspects of collegiate rugby via the Union website and rugby publications.
Support member clubs who host a Territorial Union championship event.
Play an active role on the Territorial Union's Collegiate Committee.
